Since 2013 the Friends of "Babe" James has continued to make education a number one priority, offering educational programs to students who attend the Alonzo "Babe" James Center, located in the Historic Westside of New Smyrna Beach, FL. We have introduced students to a range of courses varying from subjects in STEM, Reading, Writing, Math, and Art.
The World of Embodiology® was introduced to the youth at the Alonzo "Babe" James Community Center’s, Summer Camp Program, on Monday, July 26th, in New Smyrna Beach. The World of Embodiology® is a national program of “Move and Play” which was taught to 35 school aged children that attend Center’s Summer program. The instructors of the program used a combination of movement, music, and sensory practice to help the students gain self-confidence, self-esteem, group interaction, and learning skills, which they can apply in their daily lives.

Annually the Friends of Babe James, INC, sponsors multiple children to attend the summer camp program. This includes the tuition and registration fees, along with any costs associated with trips during the program.
